Quick Six-Trak service…

I decided yesterday it was time for a quick clean and service of my Sequential Circuits Six-Trak. I have been soooo busy recently with various things, and this is another job that’s been put off and off for ages….

My Six-Trak is a Rev A (first version) Six-Trak, serial number 000843 which makes it a very early model, made in 1984! it’s been looked after, and I got it for a bargain £115.00 from ebay about 4 years ago. Try finding one in this good condition now for less than about £400!!! Anyway, I stripped it down, and cleaned it up. Checked the onboard battery for any signs of leakage etc. and it checked out fine. Hoovered out the dust, cleaned the keys a bit and took off the membrane buttons and cleaned them so hopefully there shouldn’t be any problems there either. Took a few photo’s just for reference and to show off and fixed it back up! Voilá job done and sorted…sooo on to the pictures…

  1. Hi Ade, I also have a Six Trak serial no. 000247 which I not powered up for a while.. Bought in 2004 , time flies as I thought it was only a few years ago.. As expected MOST of the keys arent functioning.. Could you tell me what to use to clean the buttons? Are we talking some Servisol 10 here? Thanks , Charlie

  2. Hi Charlie,
Yeah that would be a good start. If you disassemble the Six-Trak the rubber buttons just pop off and you can clean the contacts underneath. Usually it’s just dust that makes them hard to work…

Any problems, send us an email through this site!

    Ade
